When you click on start in windows XP and move you cursor on a menu that have sub-menu then sub-menu will appear after short interval. If you want to remove that interval then follow these:

1. Click Run and type regedit
2. Press OK
3. Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the Registry editor
4. Now select control panel
5. Click on Desktop
6. Select MenuShowDelay from the list
7. Double click on it and add any value ranging from 0 to 4000 (Smaller the value means less amount of milliseconds and less wait). It is not recommended to add 0 as it would be difficult to navigate through that speed.
8. After Changing restart your computer
9. Now you can feel the difference in start menu

Now your sub-menu will open up immediately when you move your mouse over that
