Change windows xp start buttons name

You can set your name insteat of start on right bottom of windows xp

Steps:

1. First of all just u need to do is download Resource hacker     (DOWNLOAD)
2. Make a backup copy of the file explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer then copy and paste in a folder somewhere on your hard drive where it would be safe
3. Start Resource Hacker



4. Click on file and then open explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer.exe
5. Find String Table on left side and Expand it
6. Navigate down to and expand string 37 now click on 1033. If you are using the Classic Layout rather than the XP Layout, use number 38
7. The right hand pane will display the stringtable. In right box start is shown in front of 578.
8. Change Start to what you want to show on start button but don't remove " "

Note: If you changed explorer.exe name then you have to change that in registry too.

Steps to change registry:

1. Click on start and click on run
2. Type in that regedit and click on ok
3. Locate here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows NT > CurrentVersion > Winlogon
4. On right box double click on shell to open it
5. Now change its value to the name that you gave to explorer.exe file
