We all have some personal and some important data on our PC. But sometimes we got some error in our operating system and then our operating system crashes. Then we have to install it again or we can fix problems but fixing some problems are not so easy. It is easy to install new OS then fixing problems. But when you reinstall your OS (windows) you'll lose some of your old data. Best way to keep your too much important data is to make backup of it. You can make a backup on a pen drive/USB drive or you can use online services to save your important files.
One of most trusted is SkyDrive by Hotmail. You can save your files on SkyDrive as backup and you can download those files from there at any time.
Try to choose services like this because some are not stable and will vanish away like megaupload is banned by US government.
- Click on SkyDrive. After it SkyDrive window will appear. You can upload your files directly here by clicking add files or you can make a new folder by clicking on folder icon on left side of add files.
- Making folder is recommended because in this way you can manage your content in different ways. You can make some folders public, some only available to your friends and some totally hidden (only you can see them and use files in them). So click on folder icon to make new folder.
- On next screen you'll see option in which you need to specify name of folder. Give your folder a name.
- Now you can see another option below it which says share with: Just me (this is default). You can change it if you want to share this to your friends or to friends of your friends or to everyone. You can add some additional people by submitting their email in required box. After this click on next button right below it.
- Now you'll see a box. You can upload files by selecting files from your computer or by simply dragging files in that box.
- If you get some error message with some file then don't be sad because that file cannot be uploaded to SkyDrive just click on view error and then click on remove button.
- After all of this you got your last step. Just click on continue and your files are now uploaded to SkyDrive. Now you can download those files at anytime you want.
Google drive is also useful for this purpose. We'll discuss that in some other post.
Share with your friends. Maybe they need this.
